Boating Fun

Our new friend Julianne invited us to go boating for the evening. We headed upto Deer Creek after work and met up with more of Julianne's friends. I was too big of a chicken to get in the water or do any water sports. I was just along for the ride. I'm more of a spectator at these things. It was fun watching the surfing and wakeboarding. We had a great time. Thanks for the invite. Let's do it again soon!

Feeding the Ducks

Chelsea and Karlee are in town for a few days. We took Karlee to the park to feed the ducks. She loves animals so she thought it was pretty cool. It took her a few minutes to get the idea of throwing the bread, but then she figured it out. It was pretty cute to watch.

Family Fun

I spent the first part of last week down in St. George. My cousin's family trip happened to be the same week as my break from work. Chelsea and I couldn't pass up the chance to see Brittany and her growing family. The last time we saw her was at Chelsea's wedding, and she's had 2 kids since then. The quick trip included lunch with a friend, seeing Abby as an orphan in Annie at Tuacahn, swimming with the cousins, and a family dinner. It was lots of fun spending a few days with the fam.

Happy Birthday Karlee

Karlee turned a year old on Friday. I can't believe it. This year has gone by so fast. Check out Chelsea's blog for full details. She planned Karlee's party a week early so I could be there. She is so cute and doing such fun things right now. Her little personality is coming out so much, and she is seriously so dang cute. She is still such a tiny thing and moving all over the place.

Karlee got to eat a cupcake. She didn't get too messy, but she did eat the whole thing and loved it. She loves sugar!

I let her open her present so I could see her play with it. She loves the animals.

Her party was a bug party. We spent all day the day before preparing for the party-making a caterpillar of cupcakes, ladybug cookies, a sun from carrots and dip, and flowers from grapes and chips. The party was really cute, but it was super windy. I think half the food blew on the ground, but everyone seemed to have a good time.

I was so glad I got to go down and celebrate Karlee's birthday. She loved her bug party at the park and obviously had no idea all that fuss was for her.

Look What I Can Do

Chelsea has been freaking out that Karlee can't learn to drink from a straw. I brought down the magic straw bottle we use at work to teach kids and voila...she now drinks from a straw.

Day at the Zoo

Chelsea, Karlee, and I spent a couple days in St. Louis while on the graduation trip. Ashley thought it would be fun to take Karlee to the zoo. She was a little nervous about a few of the animals but mostly she really liked it. She started saying "what's that" on the trip and said that will all the animals. She especially liked the monkeys and the penguins. We had a lot of fun at the zoo. It's a really good zoo with lots of fun animals, and the best part is that it's free.

All Grown Up

There are officially no more kids in my family. Zach, the baby, graduated from high school and Ashley graduated from college last weekend. It worked out really well that both graduations were the same weekend, but by the end we were all graduationed out. My mom says she's ready to have all the kids grown up, but I'm really not sure what she's going to do with herself.

Karlee kept us entertained during the graduations. She loved when everyone clapped and even joined in.
