blogging the bach 16.5

*this post contains sponsored content. all opinions are my own.
The NBA finals messed up the bach schedule last week. Celsey and I watched later in the week. I was having some computer problems and didn't get started very quickly. The main points are...
-Luke S left on his own. I knew he would go home, but I was surprised he left on his own.
-the group date was way better than last week
-ALLLLL the conversation with Luke P was exhausting and so bizarre. Why did that date continue to go on? It was painful to watch. Please send him home and get him signed up for therapy. I am actually serious about this. This stint on national TV is not going well for him, and it really seems like he has some stuff he needs to work out. Speaking of therapy, have you ever been to therapy? Or thought about it but didn't even know where to start? This article is the perfect place to start. It includes frequently asked questions, basic info, help on finding a therapist, and much more.
-the previews for next week look like a whole lot more drama
-our brackets are pretty well dead at this point. It's bad and also really funny.

5 little confessions

**i received product from slumber cloud in exchange for writing this post. all opinions are my own.

a couple of years ago i had a regular series-5 little confessions. i miss it, and every now and then i feel the need to bring it back.

we've all seen the posts going around blogland and social media about being honest and keeping things real. bloggers often get accused of posting only the parts of our lives we want to show off. we know we all have those less than bloggable moments in life. as readers, we all love reading those posts, but as writers we sometimes avoid spilling the dirt. in the spirit of keeping things real, i bring you 5 little confessions. did you go 5 days without washing your hair? did your clean laundry sit on your floor until it was time to wash again? did you spend all weekend keeping up with the kardashians? did you eat cake for breakfast? dig up a few of your own secrets and share them below.

1. we all know i hate washing my hair. i usually wash my hair every 4-5 days, but things have gotten majorly out of control the past couple of weeks. i'm moved to a once a week schedule. it's bad.

2. along those lines, 2 weeks ago i washed my hair late saturday night and went straight to bed (without brushing my hair). as if that's not bad enough, i didn't brush it all week until i washed it again the next saturday. i probably should be worried about suddenly having dreads.

3. for years and years i set my alarm for 5:00am. i had no problem getting right out of bed and hitting the gym. the past year or two have been such a struggle. i can barely get my butt out of bed at 6:30. i have no idea how i was so dedicated to the gym, but i need to figure it out ASAP.

4. I'M SO NOT DOING IT ALL. does this really need any explanation? i was talking to kaylynn at the bella ella event last week, and she said this phrase. nothing could be more true of my life.

5. i love summer so much. i don't want it to end, but my house (especially the upstairs where the bedrooms are) is so hot. we keep the air set to 74, but i still can barely sleep it's so hot. as much as i want summer to stay forever, i'm confessing that i kind of want it to cool off a little for the sake of my sleep.
in the meantime, i discovered the perfect solution. i bought a cheap mattress pad years ago and have been using it ever since. i recently discovered the nacreous mattress pad from slumber cloud. who knew a nice mattress pad could make such a huge difference?!? not only is it soft and fluffy, it is heat managing. wow! what a difference. i put it on my bed and slept without being way too warm. it was amazing! slumber cloud has other great products, but i highly suggest this one.

they're running a contest through the end of the month. if you don't win and still want to try it out, use code AZFREND through 9/15 for 15% off your order.

5 little confessions

i haven't done a 5 little confessions post in a while so here you go...

1. i've eaten out so many times this week i can't even keep track,
2. i can't seem to cook from a recipe anymore. i always seem to feel the need to change something. it would be a lot easier if i just followed the recipe.
3. i brushed my hair on sunday after washing it, and i'm pretty sure i didn't brush it again until yesterday morning. yikes but true!
4. i get major anxiety picking out a nail color to use. i have so many options, and narrowing it down is just too hard #firstworldproblems
5. my email inbox is completely out of control. i need to get on top of that immediately.

now it's your turn. spill it...

people probably think for the most part i have it (whatever it is) together. i kind of like people to think that. this year (ya pretty much the whole freaking year) i have had it together less than ever. a lot of things in my life have taken a serious beating due to the craziness of it all-my house being high on that list. so here you have it...5 little confessions...home edition.

1
i love holiday decorations-all the holidays and all the decorations. i'm sometimes a little guilty of putting them up a little early, but when the holiday is over, it's time for them to come down. i left for hawaii november 6 (obviously after halloween) with a house still 100% decorated for halloween. i came back november 16 (way way after halloween) and got the worst cold ever (excuses excuses). my halloween decorations stayed up until november 23 (oops) when i took them down and put up christmas.

2

i came home from hawaii and unpacked my suitcase within a day or 2. it's still sitting on my bedroom floor. if i don't hurry it up and put it away, it will be time to use it again for christmas travel.

3
i keep my pants (all of them including leggings except dress pants) in a hanging cubby in my closet. the hanging cubby broke one week ago yesterday and fell on the floor. it's still on the floor, and i have no idea what to do about my pants or when i'm going to have time to figure it out.

4
i make my bed every single day no exceptions. i'm a total freak about it, but i HATE washing my sheets. i don't actually sleep in them so i use that as an excuse for not washing them as often as i should.

5
i never throw clothes on the floor ever. i can't understand for one single second why i would throw my clothes on the floor when i can just as easily throw them in the dirty clothes basket.

there you have it...all (ok maybe not all) my dirty little secrets about my home. let's hear yours...about your home or anything else. link up below.

5 little confessions has been a lot of fun this year, but we're ready to mix things up a little. stay tuned for details coming next month. we're looking for an additional host or two so if you're interested, let me know.

5 little confessions...food edition

5-Little-Confessions_250x250

if you're new around here, welcome. the first wednesday of the month you will find me joining carrie, kimberly, and jaquelyn for 5 little confessions. what exactly is that?

we've all seen the posts going around blogland and social media about being honest and keeping things real. bloggers often get accused of posting only the parts of our lives we want to show off. we know we all have those less than bloggable moments in life. as readers, we all love reading those posts, but as writers we sometimes avoid spilling the dirt. in the spirit of keeping things real, we bring you 5 little confessions. did you go 5 days without washing your hair? did your clean laundry sit on your floor until it was time to wash again? did you spend all weekend keeping up with the kardashians? did you eat cake for breakfast? dig up a few of your secrets and link up below.

this month i'm talking all about food.

1
i don't like pizza. i'll eat it if i have to, but i never choose to eat it. i know, it's weird and unamerican or something, but it's true.

2

i ate chicken mcnuggets, yes from mcdonalds, for dinner the other night. gross right?!?

3
lately i've been eating outshine popsicles for breakfast almost every single day. it's not as bad as it sounds. i usually eat a banana or yogart or something, but still hopefully that phase will end now that the weather is a little cooler.

4
i've never eaten top ramen. that might be less of a confession and more of an accomplishment. i had no idea what it even was until i was in college.

5
i just drank diet coke straight out of a 2 liter bottle. it was almost gone, but still that's embarrassing.

now it's your turn. link up below with your confessions.

5-Little-Confessions_250x250

people always say they love utah because it has all 4 seasons. that's only a little bit true. fall and spring come for about 2-3 weeks before leaving us for the next season. other people say utah has 2 seasons-construction and winter. that's a lot true. i LOVE summer which most people already know. the rest of the seasons just aren't my favorite. this month i bring you my seasonal confessions.
1
like it or not, summer is ending. i'm in big time denial. i finally took down my patriotic decorations on monday. yes, i know the 4th of july was 2 months ago

2

everyone is all excited for pumpkin spice latte to hit starbucks. i don't drink coffee so it doesn't make me any more thrilled about summer ending. mostly i'm just mad.

3
the only thing about fall i am actually excited about is fall nail colors. i have so many i can't wait to use them all.

4
i'm sure fall is a really nice season. it is actually really beautiful here with all the changing leaves. i can't ever enjoy fall because i'm too busy dreading winter. i'm determined to soak up fall this year and worry about winter when it comes.

5
utah relies on the snow for water later in the year. whenever i hear people praying for rain or snow i instantly get a little angry. i really really hate snow. i suppose i am grateful for the moisture, but i don't usually feel like i am.

now it's your turn. we want to hear all your confessions so link up below.

i'm a busy person. i always say i'm chronically busy, and it's true. people always want to know how i do it so today i'm confessing a few secrets.
1
i've gone to bed in the 2:00am hour the past 2 nights. it's terrible, but i've had a few deadlines.

2

when i'm really tired and/or i know it's going to be a late night, i take a quick little nap on my bedroom floor before working. monday night that nap happened at 12:30am.

3
sometimes at work i think i can get anywhere in 7 minutes. i know how long it takes to get to a particular house, but i never ever seem to leave on time.

4
i would rather spend time socializing than almost anything else. the main reason i never have time to read is because i would rather talk.

5
even when i am crazy busy, if you ask me to do something i will probably say yes.

there you have it...confessions of a busy person. now it's your turn. link up below.
