26.2

A couple of years ago I started running with the Generation Gap running group. They all run marathons, lots of marathons. It only took a few months of running with them to be convinced that I needed to run a marathon (Top of Utah). That was almost 2 years ago. After not running a marathon last year, I decided to kick off this year's racing season with the Ogden marathon. Utah weather is so crazy, and we had tons of rain the week of the marathon. I was so nervous about the weather and what I was going to wear(probably not the thing I should have been most worried about). We could not have asked for better weather. It was the perfect day. The course is beautiful, and I loved it. 26.2 miles is kind of long, but I did it! Now I'm wondering what in the world made me think 3 marathons in one year would be a good idea.

at the finish line
Kelly came and ran the last 3 miles with me. I was so happy to see her and have some company for the last few miles.
Becca and I went together. It was great having a friend before the race especially since I didn't run into any of my other friends that were running.

  2. That's awesome! How are your knees? Mine have been acting up so I haven't done any extensive running in a while. Just jogging/speed walking with the baby stroller. I won't if I could do a marathon that way... :-)

  4. Wahoo! Congrats Aubrey. What an accomplishment. Good luck with the other two marathons. Come run the Provo River Half on Aug. 7. That's what I'm training for this spring/summer.
