Fashion Friday-shapewear

*I received these products from CYSM to try out. All opinions are my own.

Some clothes (especially dresses) require shapewear. No matter how well they fit, a little extra compression always helps. I have worn a lot of shapewear over the years, but I typically wear the shorts only. I was really excited when CYSM reached out to me to send some products for me to try out.

II got a slip, leggings and a waist trainer. Even though I followed the sizing on their website, my original order was a little too small. They were so great to work with. They sent me a shipping label to send the items back and sent new ones out in a bigger size. Everything came quickly and fits much better.
I have found the slip to be much more comfortable than the shorts and works a lot better. CYSM products are high quality and their customer service is exceptional.

Murderly Manhattan

*This post is sponsored by Murderly. All opinions are my own.

I have always wanted to host a murder mystery party, but I never had the right opportunity until Murderly reached out to me to work with them. This party has been in the works for a while, but we wanted to wait until Celsey and Shawn were in their new house. We tried to plan it earlier this year, but the holiday season turned out to be the perfect time to host the party. We will definitely be making this a new annual tradition.

We picked the Manhattan party so we could dress up a little. Everyone was awesome and dressed their parts really well. We did a cocktail (mocktail) hour for chatting and trying to solve the murder, dinner, and dessert. We voted on the murderer between dinner and dessert.
the whole crowd
the girls
the boys
the couples
the singles

Since the party was close to Christmas, we went with Christmas decor using mixed metals and pops of red. Celsey wanted garland for her house so we used that with a lot of candles throughout the area.
Drink-sprite, fresh cranberries

Celsey's character was the bartender so she and Shawn made drinks for us. The drinks were all very good and could easily be made as mocktails or cocktails.

We wanted a little fancier dessert to match the theme of the party-brownie sundae with homemade chocolate ball that melts with homemade caramel sauce. It was one of the best desserts ever.

This party was so much fun. Hosting anything with Celsey is always a good time and always turns out really well. Planning and hosting something for adults only was different than our norm and so great. Murderly was great to work with, and I would absolutely do another party with them again. Beauty Time Tuesday-October and November empties

Apparently I didn’t post this a month ago so I’m combining October and November empties.

I used a lot of skincare and makeup products in October. I have mixed reviews this time.
Cetaphil face wash-This is one of my favorite face washes. It is very gentle and works great.
Bath and body works body cream-love
Dove spray deodorant-love. I’ve talked about this many times before. I use this on my feet with heels, flats, other shoes with no socks.
Clinique mascara-I like most Clinique mascaras. The double end mascara was pretty dry, but it seemed to be more because of the small container.
Too faced better than sex mascara-not my favorite
Too faced chocolate soleil bronzer-love. I replaced this before it was gone because I love it so much.
Intuition razor-love
Mint pear vitamin C-I really wanted to love this. I have seen it do amazing things for other people, but I didn’t notice any changes with using it.
LancĂ´me 24 hour foundation-love. I keep saying I want to try something new, but nothing is as good.
I bought a few new skincare products this months so I’m excited to see how they work.

I didn’t use up much in November.
Bath and Body works lotions-Chelsea and I bought some Christmas lotions at the first of the year. It didn’t end up being my favorite scent, but I always like the lotion.
IT cosmetics Miracle Water-I bought this after a skincare treatment at Sephora. It kind of just seemed like very expensive water. I’m not planning to buy it again.
Mary Kay lash lengthening mascara-love love. I like this as a finishing mascara.
Intuition razor-love

One Little Word-December 2018

In 2018 I want to fill my life with things and people I LOVE and let things go that I do not love. I want to show more LOVE to others and accept more LOVE. I want my life to be full of LOVE.

My word of the year and goals like most years have shifted a bit as the year goes on. I really wanted November to be the month to recommit myself to my goals and get back to where the year started. I tried. I really tried.

YEARLY GOALS
*attend temple 12 times-
*send birthday and other cards monthly✔
*nightly gratitude journal-This of all months should have been the best time to focus on this. I started out well and slowly dropped off.
*love my body by continuing health and fitness goals-I have been more focused in November and want to do so again this month.
*monthly savings/budget goal to be more accountable for my spending and save more-it's time to get back to this

NOVEMBER GOALS
*clean up my nutrition-clean eating-better but could still improve
*increase intensity of workouts
*put phone down by 10:30 (I did a 10 day social media cleanse last month. I missed sharing my life with friends and family and keeping up with friends and family, but I did not miss the aimless scrolling or time I spend on social media when I should be sleeping. I still really love social media, but I need to prioritize sleep.)-I did not stick to this goal at all

DECEMBER GOALS
*fully engage in CSATT challenge
*finish everything for Christmas as soon as possible
*treats at social events/parties only
*catch up on blog over holiday break

I want to end the year strong!

Halloween 2018

I have a few mixed feelings about Halloween. I like to dress up with a group without spending a ton. We always have a costume contest at work. Our team started planning our Sesame Street costume pretty early this year. We had a fun time making the tutus and getting everything all put together. We had many of the characters and a few special guests with our costume. Drew was a good sport to be Elmo although we really didn't give him a choice.

Book club for October was the night before Halloween so we decided to wear costumes. A few people put their costumes together last minute and they all turned out so great. It was fun to dress up and celebrate the holiday while talking about the book.

Celsey always has the cutest ideas. The Flinstone family was so great. All the costumes were perfect. Her mom had us over for soup before trick or treating in their neighborhood.

I love a good family theme.

Halloween was a little chilly. Rem wanted Amanda to warm his hands by blowing on them.

Mid week Halloween is a little tough, but it was kind of nice to be done with it pretty early. We had a fun time celebrating, and the kids made it even more fun.
