i've talked about glasses before. this isn't the first time you've seen these pictures either. i don't have many pictures wearing glasses because i don't wear them very often. ever since i ordered these glasses from firmoo i want more glasses. i was kind of scared to order glasses online, but it was so easy-upload a picture, try on glasses, add your prescription, wait a few days and you have new glasses. even though i rarely wear glasses, i want more.

travel bug

ever since i got back from mexico, i have a serious travel bug. i love utah, and i love my life. but i seriously want to get the heck out of here all the time. i can't complain too much. since being back i went to vegas for memorial. i'm going out of town this weekend to see my parents, and i have a trip planned to california. still i'm dreaming about going somewhere else.

i should be used to it by now because it happens every year, but this winter wonderland is going to be the death of me today. i hate winter even when it's supposed to be winter so when it's supposed to be spring i'm a little grumpy about it.

as soon as we picked gold glitter, i knew i wanted to do a decoration for st. patrick's day. my friend had a white pallet with gold glitter heart, and i knew i wanted to do something similar but with a canvas and a shamrock instead.

the hardest part of the project was finding the time to actually do it.

supplies

green paint in shade of your choice

12x12 canvas (try big lots or local craft store with a coupoin)

paint brush

shamrock stencil

glue

gold glitter

i got a silhouette for christmas and really haven't used it much. this was the perfect project. i purchased the shamrock from the design store for $0.50.

1. paint canvas and let dry

2. get or cut out a shamrock stencil

3. tape stencil to canvas

4. apply glue inside the stencil

5. dump glitter

6. remove stencil and let dry

7. shake off excess glitter

i'm really happy how easy this was and how quick and simple it was. i really love glitter and all things sparkly. do you love glitter? link up glitter posts below. speaking of sparkle, there's also a surprise below.

The app can be downloaded for free from the iTunes App Store and Google Play. 

Here are 10 features and benefits the new app provides:

·        GermWatch: Find out how prevalent various germs are in Utah, and see how their activity level is trending. Learn about symptoms, how germs are spread, treatments, vaccinations, and when you should contact your doctor.

·         InstaCare and KidsCare urgent care centers:  Hold your place in line before you arrive and compare wait times by Utah location.  Also find KidsCare after-hours clinics in Utah and information for making appointments.

·       My Health: Users can access the password-protected My Health patient portal, where they can securely message their Intermountain doctor, check lab results and other parts of their medical records with Intermountain Healthcare, and review benefits and claims.

i bought a nice camera almost a year and a half ago. when i bought it, i promised myself i would use it, and i have. i have taken it to hawaii, the virgin islands, missouri, nashville, california several times, and all around here. there's just one little problem...i've been shooting on auto the whole time (insert embarrassed monkey emoji). i've had really good intentions to figure out how to shoot on manual, but it never seems to happen...until now. i met mckenzie back in the summer and have been dying to take her mcphoto 101 class ever since. it finally happened a few weeks ago. we learned all about using the camera on manual and finished up with a photo shoot. i wish i could say i totally know what i'm doing now, but i definitely need more practice.

we ended the class with a photo shoot with this darling model. she's a natural and made it la lit easier to shoot. i plan on lots more photo sessions.

the class was great. i learned a lot more than i knew before, and i'm excited to practice. i really love having a nicer camera. even when i shoot on auto, the pictures are so much better.

fall fashion...seasonal transitions

 the leaves started changing and the temperatures are a little cooler, but it has still been fairly warm here until yesterday. fall all of a sudden hit yesterday. i'm pretty sure i'm in the minority, but fall isn't my favorite season. fall in Utah is really short, and it just means winter is coming. i really hate winter so i tend to waste fall dreading winter. even though fall isn't my fave, i do love pulling out scarves and cardigans. today i'm kicking off the we do: fall fashion series, 

depending on where you live dressing for fall can be a little tricky. fall weather in utah is definitely  a little tricky. saturday it was nearly 80 degrees, and yesterday i think the high was around 50 degrees. the best way to handle the crazy variations is layers.

 start with a scarf

 or a lightweight, 3/4 sleeve cardigan

 keep the scarf. switch to a warmer cardigan

 it's crazy how opened toe vs closed toe shoes makes such a difference in hot how or cold i feel

 don't forget to accessorize

 when your feet start getting cold throughout the day, keep your outfit the same and switch to closed toe shoes

by this point, fall in utah is over and it's time to start thinking about winter. i don't wear many big, bulky sweaters. most of my clothes easily transition through the seasons.

when the weather gets really cold and/or snowy, i start wearing boots. 

 eventually i have to start wearing a coat. i put it off as long as possible.

fall is exciting. i'm trying to enjoy it while it lasts and forget about the inevitable winter. we're celebrating fall with a giveaway. enter below.
