wear it wednesday...hair extensions

let's get real here..i don't neeeed hair extensions. i have a ton of long hair, but i do want them. a lot of my friends have them, and even though i have pretty good hair, some days i just want better hair. there are several popular brands, but i had never heard of irresistible me until i got the chance to try them. i was pretty much in love the second i saw them. the color is so rich and matches my hair perfectly.
i was dying to try them but didn't get the chance for a few weeks. i brought them over to monday night tradish last week, and lacey helped me put them in.
i've never worn hair extensions so i didn't have the first clue. it was so nice to have someone else do it. it makes sense to tease the roots of the hair a little so the clip in actually stays in.

i thought everything was going well until i saw amanda's face.
but then they showed me this picture and i was even more in love
obviously end of day/bad lighting, but i am so amazed! we put all the pieces in which i probably wouldn't always do, but i love it so much. i can't wait to wear them somewhere else.
stay tuned for more pictures including some real photos in better lighting.

bouffant bun

several months ago i saw a post on twitter about the bouffant bun. i was obsessed immediately. it is the perfect style for my massive amounts of hair but also the perfect style for fine hair. this girl did a video tutorial.

i promised my friends a live tutorial over spring break so here you have it...the picture tutorial of the bouffant bun. i still can't do a sock bun to save my life, but i can for sure do this.
1. definitely spray some dry shampoo (suave is best if you ask me) 2. tease your hair like CRAZY and then tease even more. don't just do the roots.
3. flip  your head upside down and put in a high ponytail 4. tease your ponytail...like a lot and then some
5. wrap hair into a somewhat loose bun. your hair is so teased that it should be pretty big and not really tight at all
6. pin in place with bobby pins or hair pins
voila you have a huge bun. practice on your friends. this will get you  one more day without having to wash your hair i promise

thank you erin for introducing me to the bouffant bun. i owe you one.
do you do a sock bun? have you ever tried this? let me know if you do.

spring break

spring break was absolutely 100% fab. i decided to stay in town/be productive. it was a great week and only encouraged my dreaming of someday being a stay at home something.

the current working girls pretended to be stay at homes with the real stay at homes at a fun fun fun play date

i did a bouffant bun hair tutorial for charity...pics to come

i made abby's homemade honey mustard dressing for the most delicious chicken

april's goal of wearing blue everyday is in full force

organized and shredded papers, papers, and more papers...mostly retirement statements

blogger roundtable part 2 happened..full update coming soon

ran outside during the week...it was the best

cleaned..like really cleaned the entire inside of my car

co-worker maria took me to rancho. i actually really liked it and will most definitely be going back.

i loved loved loved spring break. i could probably have another month off and fill it with all kinds of stay at home stuff, but luckily i really like my job because spring break is over.

#monthofhair

february is over which means my goal of doing my hair differently every single day is over. it really wasn't all that bad, and i could honestly probably keep going. i'm not going to though. i have several more things i want to try so i might keep a goal of trying something new once a week. we'll see how that goes. some of the styles worked out really well, and some didn't work out at all. interestingly the days i really didn't like were the days i got the most compliments. thanks everybody. i feel so flattered.

now onto march...my goal for this month is to get all of my facebook pay it forward craft projects completed and sent.

Sock Bun

remember that post about why i will never do a sock bun again?!? i really was planning to never try again. either i have problems or my hair has problems or the sock has problems or something. people swear by the sock bun. i read all about it all over social media. erin sent me this tutorial. i stupidly decided to give it one more try because it's a different kind of sock bun.

this

this looks easy enough right. i no lie spent probably a half hour trying to get this to work this morning. it did not work no matter what i tried. i was getting so frustrated. since i have the goal to do my hair differently every day, i worked even harder to get it to work. in the end i took the sock out and it worked ok. it's not my favorite and i probably won't repeat it again anytime soon. the sock bun...well, it is never ever ever happening again..ever!

do you do a sock bun? how in the heck do you make it work? i'm running out of hair ideas. help!
