festival of trees

Ydecember is full of holiday activities, and i love it. it's such a busy month so i'm always happy for the chance to do something festive.  it was the festival of trees last week. 100% of all money goes to Primary Children's Medical Center. everything is donated.
i always love going to see the trees. people are so creative. it was ever more meaningful this year. my friends made a tree for a darling little boy eli who passed away this spring. they worked on the tree at my house. it was so amazing to see the final product.
my friends matt and nicole made a tree in honor of their infant son who passed away very shortly after birth.
having a personal connection to the trees made it so amazing this year.
biggest, most intense gingerbread house i have ever seen

i'm excited for the holidays. it took me a while to finally make my plans for the actual holidays. i finally bought a plane ticket to california. i'm so excited to get out of here and spend some time with my family. are you traveling for the holidays? i recently discovered a new site for help with travel. check out this article.

  3. I visited the festival of trees in my hometown a few weeks ago and loved it! It was in Idaho though, so definitely a lot smaller. Still cute though! :)

  4. I love the festival of trees! I just cry and cry when I look at the pictures of babies though. This year we went early, Wednesday at 4, and it was better than Saturday night, but still busy! Which is good I guess, since they need to make money :)
