i spent a few months living in the dominican republic in college. before that i liked living in america, but i didn't think much about it. while i loved my time and experiences there, it made me really appreciate america so much more. living in another country definitely made me much more patriotic.
i love the 4th of july-fireworks, bbqs, friends, etc, but it's so much more than the fun. it's about celebrating the freedoms we have, the country we live in, and the people who continue to fight for our feedom. i love the united states of america! i'm grateful for a chance to spend a few extra days with family and celebrate this country. i'm spending the holiday with my sister and her family. we'll go to the community celebration in the morning and find fireworks in the evening. sounds perfect.
Im out of the country for this years 4th so am missing out on all the fun so Im reading all about it on the blogs instead :) Happy 4th!

ReplyDeleteLove this post. :) And I think that's how a lot of our country is, we're too use to living here and we take it for granted. Despite all its faults, there are so many wonderful things about our country!
