wear it wednesday...beauty is pain vol 1

my 2 biggest mottos in life are
"beauty is pain"
"fashion over function"
although it's not true 100% of the time, i tend to live by these themes most of the time

i took these pictures for a guest post last month. i needed the denim jacket for the post, but this is a prime example. this jacket is uncomfortable. it doesn't fit my arms very well. i want to take it off the whole time i'm wearing it, yet i still wear it-a lot. why do we do that to ourselves? why do we wear things that are so uncomfortable? why, for that matter, do i care so much what other people think?

  1. Where is that wall? Uh-mazing. P.S. I have too strong of OCD-like tendencies to wear uncomfortable clothes. I continually think how uncomfortable they are and then they are OUT. Is it too much to ask for comfy and cute? Sometimes. :)

  2. i am the total opposite. i will buy things that are cute and then never wear them because they arent comfy. so now i just buy oversized shirts and jeans. not the cutest haha

  3. Shoes are my thing. I'm all for comfortable shoes and when I sacrifice my feet for cute, I regret it and take them off hahaha.

  4. I am the same way! I have this beautiful (faux) leather jacket from Express that cost a small fortune but it's too tight in the arms. I feel like the Hulk when I put it on but I still wear it all the time! It's not comfortable and probably looks ridiculous but I don't care :)

  5. Most of the time I don't mind being a little uncomfortable in my clothes. The things that does bug me to the point of driving me insane is my clothes not fitting properly and riding up or sliding off (mostly I blame this on garments to be honest with you!) But I wore high heels almost every day of teaching, pregnant or not and my students were always very impressed. Sure I was close to slipping on the terrible slippery floors at Bingham ALL THE TIME, but it was worth it to be able to look my students in the eye. #ShortGirlProblems
